Work at Home Mom

It has been over two weeks since I started working online. After a long period of time searching for work while at home, I finally am a CERTIFIED WORK AT HOME MOM (COOL!!) ! Thanks to Girl talkers who shared the link. It's not easy to juggle up my day to day chores while working and breastfeeding exclusively. Having three kids ages 3, 2 and 9 months, sleep and rest is not in my list. Lucky me to have in laws who help me take care of my toddlers.

This coming Friday, I will receive my first pay check. Not big enough to cover some of our needs but BIG enough to boost my self esteem and self worth. What is best with my job is that it covers statutory benefits unlike other free lancing online work. You know, being a home maker without income can make and brake your self worth.

My body clock is now used to working from midnight until early morning. Even my milk output has stabilize after a couple of weeks. Grateful of the blessings and hoping to have more online work coming up.

It's been six months since my last post. Of everything that has happened, I am out of words on what to post. I need to start over again, need to fix first my new template. Hope to finish this before the week ends.

A NEW BEGINNING

This month of September is a new beginning for me and my family. Personally, I had a handful of trials for the past months. I couldn't even post a blog about anything coz my heart aches. It feels so good to touch the keyboard again. I'm on my sixth month of pregnancy and showing. My days are restless and at the same time rewarding. Taking care of my kids has been such a wonderful experience yet hardest job I have ever knew.

Thank you for reading and visiting my blogs for the past months. Wish me luck that my new endeavor will be more fruitful and fulfilling. I will be posting more of me and my family soon.

LIFE really is so short

I'm on my 10th week of pregnancy now. And like all mother's, I loath my the first trimester of pregnancy. It gives me a roller coaster ride emotionally and gets me physically drained specially that I am now a SAHM with two terrible yet wonderful kids.

After confirming another blessing (I'm pregnant again for the third time within four years), my grandma past away. This has been the reason why I was not able to go back to blogging for more than a month. Nanay as I call her since she was the one who raised me since I was three months old was the most humble person I've ever known. We never heard her complain, ask nor demand anything from anyone even to her children/grandchildren.

It pains me to see her suffer in pain but still manage to smile. She never complained the pain she was feeling. We couln't figure out what was her illness because she was hiding it. I was so confident that she will get well from severe anemia. I too, had sever anemia due to bleeding and was able to recover after blood transfusion. I was so confident that she'll make it coz I made it. But I was wrong, GOD ended her sufferings.

I remember my lola told me that she was not afraid to die because she was always ready. I think she already knew that she'll be living us. I miss her so much. I miss my Nanay so much......

Life is really so short. I had lots of plans for her. I wanted her to enjoy life. She never had an easy life. I regret the days that I was not able to spent time with her. I miss Nanay so much...

Another Blessing

I have been reading food blogs for the last two weeks. Once kids are asleep, I would sit in front of my computer to surf baked goodies until my mouth waters and my stomach rumbles. I had sleepless nights, I wanted to bake my very own cake. But I don't have an oven... much more TIME. My terrible two Artoo has been a handful and so is my one year old little Evie. I will be receiving a little amount from my previous employer this month (a terminal pay) and planning to buy an oven to practice baking. I have started another blog called My Kitchen Discoveries. Until now, I could'nt make another post because I have no kitchen discovery as of the moment. I am also happy that I have lose weight, elimated all my pregnancy clothes, baby clothes and baby stuff.

My hubby and I are not planning to have another baby. Two is enough. I am so excited to enroll in a baking class and photoshop class. Excited to bring my kids in a summer workshop. Excited to start my own chocolate fountain rental here in our place. I had lots of dreams and goals for myself and my family.....

And these excitements turn into stress. I was stressed day by day. My temper is terrible. I even get irritated easily by my kids and mother in law. I was stressed because I don't know WHERE AND HOW TO START these goals of mine. I wanted to be succesful in just one snap.

Hubby told me I am losing my temper, it might be because of hormones. Then I realized I am 2 days delayed. It never happens unless I am pregnant! I feel so dumb... And I think I am. Not dumb but pregnant? OMG! A lot of questions popped on my mind. What about my plans? How about the Kids. We are beginning to spend more quality time and a little less sleep with each other because my youngest turned one and now I am going to have another baby? Oh no!

But babies planned or unplanned are blessings. I have not tried pregnancy test yet but I am quite sure that I really am pregnant. I don't know what God's plan to us and whatever it is, I will just follow. I just hope and pray that my baby grows normal and healthy. And may God guide me to be the best mother to my kids. Maybe God wanted me not to focus on myself only. HE noticed how selfish I can become. I don't know.... But thank you Lord for ANOTHER BLESSING..

JOY LIST OF A MOTHER

When I was still working, I always miss the kids (me and my hubby only see them during weekends). My time during weekdays were spent in the four corners of the cubicle. Reading and or sleeping is one way spending my free time (during lunchbreaks), that is if I have no deadlines to meet. As I read, I bump into one of Bo Sanchez writings. He said that I should keep a journal of my Joylist. The stuff that gives me Joy everyday.

Of course, the first on the list was spending quality time with my Kids. As all mothers wanted to be with their children 24 hours a day. To be able to teach, guide, play and serve them. After leaving work to be a full time mother of two, my kids now have all my time twenty four hours a day.

For almost four months of being a SAHM, I always wanted to be a perfect mother to be able to raise perfect children. To teach and guide them to be a God-fearing and succesful person as they grow up. That is what mothers wanted. Right? But a perfect mother is not being perfect at all. I have come to realize raising a child is the toughest responsibility more than anything. Being a mother is learning and teaching at the same time rewarded by an innocent smile of my babies.

This Joylist of mine was written in my journal almost a year ago while I am still working and as I noticed today while reading it that working in a corporate world was not included. Let me share with you my simple joylist.

1. spend quality time with kids.
2. a date with hubby
3. prepare delicious deserts
4. reading
5. watching a movie
6. a date with my highschool friends
7. having a foot massage.
8. grocery and shopping.

A Perfect Blend of Friendship

Thanks to blogging that I am meeting a lot of friends online. Being a stay at home mom sometimes keeps me locked in the four corners of our home forgetting about the time that passes while enjoying hectic schedules with the kids. Online friends helps balanced my everyday life.

Bamboo Crafts Online Store

Online Business is very popular nowadays that almost everyone is connected to the internet. And being a stay at home mother, I also wanted to try online business to be able to earn while at home. My problem is.. what kind of business should I do online? I have a lot of ideas in my mind like food, clothing or services. But the things that pops on my mind needs a lot of time. It won't work for me because I have two kids to take care of.

As I mentioned in my previous post, we are renovating a vacant lot, and my father in law partnered with his friend to put up a Bamboo Crafts Store. This gave me an idea to create an online store of Bamboo Crafts. This venture is keeping me busy for a couple of days. I will be launching the Tiaong Bamboo Crafts online Store. Watch out for it! Hope I get orders.....

Car Wash Business

God is so good all the time. Once he closes the door, he made sure that a window will open. When hubby and I are working three hours away from our Kids, we could not even save money for our family. The fact that two of us are working, away from our home and children, our expenses are also high. Most of the time, we are so stressed because of work deadlines, homesickness(we only see our children on weekends) and a tedious hours of travel.

Until I decided to quit my job to personally take care of the children to ensure best care and to get out of a stressful living that hubby decided to put up a business. Our goal is to live a happy life and spend most of our quality time with the kids while working at home. Hubby started renovating a vacant lot at the back of our house along the highway. He put up a car wash business using his salary and a loan from the bank. The car wash area will have a free wi-fi zone, a motorcycle and refrigeration repair and a computer shop. As of now, the car wash and motorcyle repair is operational. We hope and prayed that this venture for our family will succeed not only for us but to the people around who supported us along the way.

Our Car Wash Business is loated at Barangay Uno, Tiaong, Quezon Province. For those travellers who happens to be in Southern Luzon can drop by at Artoo's Car Wash. See you around....

Preparation for Little Evie's First Birthday Part 2

It's three days to go and my daughter Evie will reach her first year of age. I am very blessed and very thankful to GOD that one his biggest blessing to us will turn one year of age. We have already distributed her invitations. Tarpaulin have been printed and leis are prepared. Hubby also bought us a chocolate fountain for her birthday. I am sure Kids will love chocolates and mallows. We also booked clowns to host the party. This whole idea except for the chocolate fountain of course are from her Ninangs. Thank you Ninangs!!!

I am also excited with the chocolate fountain. I will be putting up a chocolate fountain rental here in our place after Evie's birthday. Since this is a provincial area, chocolates and chocolate fountain are not yet available. At last, I will be using my skills in chocolate molding and preparation that I learned from Chocolate Lovers. I am now on my first step to my dream to be a MOMPRENEUR... Can't wait to taste the feeling of satisfaction and success. I will be posting some pics after Evie's birthday. Watch out for it!

After resigning from work to devote my time to my two wonderful Kids, I tried to find ways on how to earn online. And blogging is one of them. At first, thought blogging would be easy. Yes, it is. Advice to new homeschoolers

I've been trying my best to teach my children everyday about anything under the sun. I wanted them to learn while playing everything that they need to know. But I am so confused if I am doing the right thing? Or the right approach to fun learning. I think I still need to know more about my children and spend more quality time with them. After all, quality time is one of the reason why I resigned to become a stay at home mom. Let me share to you the advice to new homeschoolers by Kim Kimble.

What I Wish Someone Had Told Me At The Beginning

When I first began home educating ten years ago I was very nervous. In part this fear was because everyone was always so positive about home education that I sometimes felt like I was buying snake oil. I searched for the negatives and couldn't find anyone to talk about them (well, other than the NEA, whom I didn't trust anyway). This is, in as honest a form as I can say it, what I wish someone had told me. My advice to new homeschoolers is as follows, take from it what makes sense for your family, leave the rest.

1. Relax, have fun, enjoy each other. This is my one mandatory suggestion.

2. Be a facilitator.
I make an effort not to be a teacher. Instead, I try to facilitate learning by providing resources, opportunities, information, materials, and sometimes suggestions. I also try to mentor, but I have been most successful when I have arranged for others to mentor my children on specific topics.

3. Be a student or co-learner.
A child who learns to teach is forever altered as a learner. Even a young child has something s/he can teach. As children step into this role they have increased respect for the imparting of information as well as a heightened awareness of the value of information. Our current educational system is set up with a division between learners and teachers.

A homeschooling community or family of learners, where adults are on par with the children, has synergy not found elsewhere. Some of my favorite homeschooling memories are of being taught the crawl stroke by a twelve-year-old in green goggles and being the most challenged student at a 10-year-old's Irish step-dancing workshop.

4. Role model what you want to see in your children.
If we want to raise lifetime learners we must be lifetime learners. Children need to see us reading, writing, taking new classes, accepting challenges, questioning, researching, and creating. Over time, as we challenge ourselves to be what we want our children to become, home education becomes a lifestyle instead of an educational philosophy.

5. Talk to other homeschoolers about their educational style.
There are as many ways to homeschool as there are people home educating. Some unschool, some have small schools in their homes, most are somewhere in between. Take from conversations with those, what makes sense for you and your child.

6. Define your goals in writing.
There have been many times over the years, when my husband and I have worried and had “lively discussions" about the education of our children. In our case it was often about where we were on the school-in-the-home/unschooling continuum. Having a predetermined set of goals for your child's education gives a bench mark which can greatly simplify the times when you are so caught up in the day’s progress (or lack of it) that you lose sight of the big picture. Take the time to put it in writing, refer back when needed.

7. No matter what type of homeschooling you choose, make sure you afford yourself of its advantages.
A women once asked me if I knew of any books which covered our area's local history. I told her, no, but there was a store ten minutes away, run by a local Native American whose mission in life was to share his knowledge of the local tribes. Additionally, she could walk to the original homes of our area's first European settlers and take a tour any day of the week. She told me she didn't have time to do field trips, she had to finish their prepackaged curriculum and just wanted a book which she could make her kids read.

Most often, the homeschoolers I have seen who fail, are the kind that try to replicate little schools in their home. Most homeschoolers I know do some "seat work," but in my opinion, to have workbooks and end-of-chapter questions be the main focus of the day ruins the real-world, authentic possibilities of a home-based education.

8. Find other homeschoolers for support.
During the long, wonderful, inspiring, and exhausting days ahead, the support of other home educators can help you work through the challenges and share the joys of your triumphs. Giving and receiving support from fellow home educators can be a great pleasure as well as a benefit. Places to look: Conferences, books, websites, homeschooling periodicals, local support groups, and e-mail lists.

9. If you live in a state that requires reporting, know the laws better than the people to which you report.
Many homeschoolers don't understand the regulations and rely on the school or state officials for answers. Without exaggeration, I have been given misinformation from school officials more often than accurate information.

Equally important, provide only the minimum information required by law. When I first began, I spent hours writing pages of information with each quarterly submission. If I am honest with myself, I think my need to do this was because I thought that by illustrating the wonderful job I was doing I would single-handedly convince the powers-that-be that homeschooling was a great alternative. I was probably also still trying to convince myself. Anything other than the basics required by law is a waste of time and can cause trouble for other homeschoolers as well.

10. Don’t spend a lot of money on curriculum.
This advice is difficult for new homeschoolers. It is like having only eaten at one of those national-chain buffet restaurants for every meal of our lives. As a result, we have trouble visualizing the taste of Thai food or fresh-squeezed orange juice. Our instinct is to go out and buy an expensive prepackaged curriculum which sometimes includes a grading service, because that structure is all we have ever known and it feels safer. If using a prepackaged curriculum helps you sleep at night, by all means buy it, but only with the intention of using it as a flexible guide.

After ten years of homeschooling, I’ve learned the number one item in our homeschooling tool kit is the library card. (OK, really it is the car, but that is another story.) Sit down with the kids and ask them what they want to learn about and then use library skills to find that information. Follow their lead. When that topic loses its appeal jump to another. One example of a homeschooling day: We do about 15 formal math problems approximately three times a week using mostly Saxon Math. We also do a little phonics from a workbook, because reading and spelling are still a challenge for my nine-year-old daughter, but we wouldn’t if these topics came easily. Everything else is just living our lives and following our interests. Social studies, history, the arts, physical education, and science all come to us in various unexpected ways, but they do come, we are always busy. We don’t watch much T.V. or have a video game. This is what works for us this year, with this child. The only thing I can say about next year is that it will probably be different.

11. Keep track if you get nervous.
Many homeschooling activities don’t lend themselves to the traditional methods in which we were educated. If the "Are they getting enough?" question begins ringing in your ears, observe and record: Make a grid listing all the subjects you think your student should be covering down the left side of a paper and the days of the week across the top (don’t forget the weekends). Next, fill in each activity you do in one of the squares.

If you talk about the Russian prime minister because of a cartoon in the newspaper, mark it down in the Social Studies square for that day. Pumpkin carving, Easter eggs: art. Bike riding, snowball fight: physical education. Chinese food for dinner: home economics, social studies, history, nutrition/health, geography. If the kids ask, "Why does the snow around the trees melt first?" This is science. If you have to look up the answer: library skills. Of course more traditional work is also included. At the end of the week you will sleep better when you realize how much they have actually covered. This system also helps with paperwork if you live in a state that requires reporting.

12. Be ready to change/evolve.
The beauty of homeschooling is that it can be altered easily. Be ready to admit something is not working and try a new approach. Society has little knowledge of the realities of homeschooling and few obvious examples of its results. As homeschooling parents, our views of homeschooling change as we educate ourselves by reading, talking, and experiencing homeschooling. In addition, our children mature and their view of their own learning also evolves.

13. The decision to home educate is not irreversible.
Often when talking with potential homeschooling parents or homeschooling parents who are considering sending their kids to school, I remind them that few decisions can’t be modified if needed. I don’t advocate switching in and out of environments frequently, but a year at home or in school, if that is what is needed due to family situations or to just try something new, rarely causes lifelong permanent damage. It is not uncommon to talk with parents who are so caught up in the agony of decision making, they lose sight of the fact that this single decision need not decide the fate of their child’s entire life. If it doesn’t work out, change it.

14. Avoid sleepless nights.
If you still feel nervous, talk frankly with other home educators about your challenges, i.e. a hormonal preadolescent student who treats the parent whom s/he just asked for help with math, very differently than s/he would a teacher in a school. Contrary to many of the glowing articles that you read about home education, all days are not perfect teaching bliss, neither are those of a public school teacher. But the fact that you are concerned means you care and will make sure your child gets what they need. If there isn’t a smidgen of uneasiness somewhere inside a new homeschooling parent, that is when I begin to worry.

15. Don’t be intimidated by homeschooling success stories.
It is inspiring to read about homeschooling kids doing amazing things. However, after a few years, I was still homeschooling average kids, doing average things. I was putting a lot of energy into my kids and kept waiting for the “amazing” to kick in. I was sure I was doing something wrong.

One day I wrote a column about my son’s paper route -- pretty average stuff. As I wrote I began to make connections to all the things he had accomplished and done over the years as a result of his paper route. Eventually, I realized I was writing one of those amazing homeschooling success stories. He looked great on paper. Somehow, caught up in the day-to-day of getting him to pick up his socks, I had missed the “amazing.”

16. This is only one view of a home-based education. Keep searching.

Happy Valentines Day To All!!!

This year, hubby and I are not going anywhere. Why? Because we already have two bundles of Joy and its my first time to celebrate my Valentines as a Stay at Home Mom. When we are in Manila, we used to have dinner or watch a movie together. Sad to say, he's in Manila today working while I take care of our babies. He called to greet us and asked what we wants when he goes home. He'll probable buy us a yummy whopper and fries tonight. I've been thinking what to do for him this Valentine. I think a home foot spa will do this weekend. He must be tired and needs rejuvination. I discovered this cheap spa recipe of mine to relax once in a while.

Preparation for Little Evie's first birthday

My Little Evie is celebrating her first birthday this coming February 28. The theme will be luau which will be held in our residence. Her Ninangs are all excited and have been preparing since last week. The invitation and the leis are all handmade by her Ninang. Even the hawaiian costume for her pictorial to be used in her tarpaulin. She is so cute and very cooperative during picture taking. It's really more exciting and fabulous to plan a birthday party for girls than boys. I wish that the birthday celebration will be more succesful than we hoped it would be.

NEGO-SKWELA LIVELIHOOD TRAINING

So, the ten honest things about myself, here they are:

1. I love to read. I love hanging out in a library or in a bookstore. (Can't afford to buy books!)

2. My favorite tv shows are cooking/baking shows. I dreamed of becoming a chef and have beautiful spacious kitchen someday complete with cooking tools and equipments.

3. I am not a married mommy. I am living with my partner who is separated from his wife for eight years ago. Lucky for me that I have wonderful in-laws.

4. I easily get frustrated but hard for me to express my feelings.

5. I love to sleep. I easily get irritated if I'm hungry and sleepy.

6. I'm a homebody. I would rather stay at home than going out except when my Highschool best of friends get together once a year.

7. I'm a sweet and touchy person.

8. I don't have any talent nor favorite sport except game boards. (In short, boring!)

9. I love watching movies except horror movies.

10.I hate user-friendly people.

GROWING WITH MY CHILDREN

I grew up a very shy person. I always missed an opportunities, afraid to ask questions. Not confident enough to show myself and my feelings. No wonder, I don't have a talent or special skills to show off. Not until I became a mother...

I wanted my kids to reach their full potentials, discover what interests them most, develop good habits, self worth, high self esteem and good values as they grow up. A mom will do everything for the good of their children.

And so I learned more of things. Basic first, of course for toddlers to respond easily, mom should be able to sing, dance, and act in front of people. Kids learns faster if they see their parents do the things that they teach. I have memorized all nursery rhymes, nursery books, Barney's songs and dance, cartoon movies and cartoon characters as of the moment. Yes, you may now call me a "stage mother"...

I have also been learning how to cook to ensure that they get the best nutrition they needed as they grow up. Researching and finding ways to earn at home to help hubby of the expenses. Trying to improve myself to be the good example of the good values I wanted to impart to them. I now realized that the best decision that I have done for motherhood is to give up work to take care of the children. I am so lucky that I have this opportunity to explore all the possibilities to learn, enjoy and grow with them.

God has blessed me so much and will bless me more. Thank you Lord!!

Nanay's Kare Kare

My Mom loved to cooked and all of us in the family loved to eat. One of her specialty is Kare-Kare. I have never tasted any mouth watering Kare Kare in any restaurant that I've been to. Last Christmas (Dec08) I decided to try her recipe. It was my first time to cook Kare Kare. I wanted something different and home style this Christmas. We spent Christmas with my in laws for the past three years, we seldom cook dishes for Christmas eve except Spaghetti (moms specialty) and Roasted Chicken (dad's specialty), we only buy cooked food from Max or KFC and Red Ribbon(whichever is available). I am craving for Nanay's Kare-Kare.

I tried Pork Pata since oxtail was not available. I still have my Gie's Special bagoong, the best bagoong ever. What is Kare- Kare without bagoong? And guess what? My Kare-Kare was such a hit. My effort and money was not wasted. You may want to try this at home, I'll share the recipe. It's very easy....

2 kilos of oxtail or pork Pata
mama sitas kare-kare mix
lily's peanut butter

string beans
eggplant
pechay
puso ng saging
garlic
onions
pepper

Boil the oxtail/pork pata with onions, garlic and pepper until tender. Set aside the broth. In a pan, saute garlic, onions and meat. Add the broth about four cups. Dissolved Mama Sitas Kare Kare mix in a cup of water. Stir and add the peanut butter and simmer.

Cook the vegetable in a separate pan using a boiling water. Do not over cooked the vegies for a fresh and crunchy taste. You may serve the Kare Kare and veggies separately with your favorite Bagoong or add the the veggies into the Kare Kare before serving. It's so easy. I hope you'll love it.

I'm Back!!

I think I need a day off!!! How can I possibly have one? With my two super dee duper hyper kids, I can't. My youngest have been so attached to me. Her separation anxiety is very high for the past two months. She cries once she noticed that I am out of her sight. She's not comfortable with anyone even with her dad. Since almost all of my time are devoted to my youngest, my eldest grabs my attention most of the time.

Anyway, a day off from being a mom is just a dream. I am very happy that the kids are okay now. They had a stomach flu, fever and colds for the past two weeks and its a very tough sleepless two weeks for me.

Another good news is that I am now backed to blogging. Got to grab time to do this to be able to discover what interests me most, to earn online and to learn more. Got to know my own niche. I had to merge all of my blogs into one. Hope you like it. Welcome to my Blog!!!!

STARSTRUCKED AT BARNEY!!

We are very excited to watch the Barney and Friends Live Show at Megamall. Actually, we have no idea on what kind of show would it be. It was our first time to watch this kind of live show. We only see Barney on videos and tv. And since my beloved unico hijo is addicted to Barney (he watched Barney and Friends videos every day from the moment he wakes up till bedtime), his Ninang treated us to watch a Barney Live Show as his Christmas gift.

As we entered the movie theatre of SM Cinema (Megamall), more than half of the population who are about to watch are KIDS of all ages.... including their chaperon who are also KIDS in heart. And when Barney came out as the show starts, the kids shouts, jumps and waved their flags in excitement and amazement except my son, Artoo. He was starstrucked at Barney.

Almost all of the KIDS sung and danced with Barney and Friends. We knew all the lyrics of the song, I even joined the Kids in singing, shouting and imitating Barney's Song just to encourage him to participate, but to no avail, he just sat in his Lola's lap and watched while holding two of Barney and Friends flags.

Before the shows ends, he jump of to his feet to go to the front to join the Barney and the Kids. It was only that time that he reacted and danced with Barney. He even hugged one of the Kids when Barney sung the I You Love Song. It was his first time to see Barney in person and singing live together with Baby Bop and Bj.

Last December 14, we watched Barney Live Show at SM Megamall. After the show, we went straight to a photo studio to take pictures of my two bundles requested by her Ninangs. We did'nt get much pictures coz the kids are so tired and sleepy. But still, the pictures came out cute!

The charity training will be conducted by Henry Ong. Henry is an experienced computer trainer and leader in various companies here and abroad. His mission is to contribute to society thru education to improves lives of those who are willing to learn. He believes that education should not be a priviledge but a right to each and everyone.

IT Training is too expensive nowadays and Henry is giving his time and knowledge to those who are willing to learn the courses to be used for business and or professional careers. I'm planning to put up perfume business here in our town that will cater high school and college students. MY UNCLE

I'm about to sleep when hubby arrived from work. It's 2'oclock in the morning and my kids are sleeping soundly, my mother texted me that my uncle was rushed to the hospital because of high blood pressure and his nose bleeding heavily. I can't help myself not to worry. To me, high blood pressure is serious and should be treated immediately. A lot of things are popping into my mind as I lay in bed after calling my mom. I offered a little prayer for his fast recovery .

I love my uncle. He is deaf and mute, ignorant, can't write nor read, single and living alone. My mom told me that he's looking for me. Asking if I already knew that he's sick. It's his fist time to be rushed to the hospital. The last time I saw him was on December 2007. He works as a butcher for more than fifteen years until now. He should be well soon to be able to attend to his Company's Christmas party. He is meztizo, tall, handsome even at the age of 50. He dreamed of becoming rich because we came from a poor family. Imagine my lola widowed at a young age raising six children, three of them are deaf. It must be really tough. I wanted to fullfill his dream. Build a mansion in the middle of farm for him. Provide everything he needed from clothes to jewelries. He loves to flaunt his new stuff to everyone (which only happens once a year) , that way he feels he belong. I wanted to return his generosity to us nephews and nieces.

I remember when we were kids. Once he is around, even in his sleep (he works at night), he's always giving us piso (P1.00) for candies everyday. My thoughful Tito Sidro, I'm doing my best to succeed because I want you to age gracefully. So Get well SOON.....

My Artoo at 2 year old and his little Sissy Evie at 8 months are very fond or should I say addicted to Barney and Friends Videos. From the moment they woke up till late in the evening, the same video keeps on playing over and over again. Artoo learned a lot from Barney and Friends Videos like kissing, hugging, playing, shapes and colors and even jumping!!! I have come to memorize almost all of Barney and Friends Songs. Right now, they love the Rhym Time with Barney and Mother Goose. They've already received their Christmas presents from their Ninang Daintee, and guess what it is? CHRISTMAS TREE

I remember when I was kid, my mom used to fill our house inside and out with Christmas decors and christmas lights before the month of October ends. Me and my siblings helped her decorate our 6 foot christmas tree with lots of christmas balls, angels, and stars. We are all excited specially on the Christmas tree because it will be filled with lots of christmas presents. I kind a miss the moments of bonding with my mom, brother and sisters. We are all grown ups and some of us have a family of our own.

I'm so excited to spend our first Christmas with my own family in our own home. It's my youngest first christmas ever. I wanted them to remember in their hearts and mind the season of Christmas - JESUS birthday. They may not be able to grasp the true meaning of it, but I want them to feel the warmth of Christmas.

We are planning to buy our first ever Chirstmas Tree. It may not be a 6-foot tall but we will make sure that it will be filled with lots of love and lights...

LOVE LANGUAGES

I've learned these love languages from a talk show of Gladys Reyes some time ago. And was featured again in Salamat Dok.

I noticed my eldest Artoo turning two on November 03 has his own Love Languages. As a mom, I'm trying to discover more of it to be able to response for my child's best interests.

According to Dr. Gary Chapman, there are five love languages

1. Words of Affirmation
2. Quality Time
3. Receiving Gifts
4. Acts of Service
5. Physical Touch.

Words of Affirmation - Words of Affirmation is the best love language to a child. As long as you affirm them in every way, they will listen to you. They feel loved and that they are important to you. A simple affirmation such as "Very Good", "WoW" "Good Boy/Girl will" tame them.

Quality Time - Quality Time for our children are very important. It makes us special to their hearts because of the memories we spent with the children. It doesn't matter where and when. As long as they enjoy, get thrilled, and get excited with whatever you do together. Try to play with them more often. Read books, story telling, and play make believe.

Receiving Gifts - The easiest love language is Receiving Gifts. Children love to receive gifts. Children are easy to pleased.... My son adores his Ngangang (Ninang) because of the gifts. He remembers his Ngangang even in his sleep. Buy them cheap but educational books. They love story telling very much. My son remembers Mommy when he wants to read.

Acts of Service - As much as possible, I wanted to be a hands on mom. I try to be with them most of the time. I wanted them to know that us parents are always beside them anytime they need us. These acts of service may be preparing food for them, bathing, fixing things and more...

Physical Touch - Physical Touch is very important to children, It teaches them the warmth feeling of love to us by hugging, kissing, touching and snuggling. Children feels secured and loved when touched.

LIVING LIFE TO THE FULLEST…..

Giving up my eight to five work….. Actually, it’s not an eight to five work Most of the time, it’s an eight to ten work hours work and sometimes more……. was the best decision I ever made…

I passed my resignation letter last week. And most of my co-workers were stunned at my decision… All of them asked WHY???? Can’t you wait till December, the bonuses, the Christmas package, the Christmas raffles, the giveaways and the Christmas parties? What will you do?? Where will you work? My simple answer was… I’m tired and I wanted to be with my Kids….No deadlines to meet, stress free environment, no politics and best of all, bonding with the Kids.

We live in Quezon Province, we worked in Makati City, we see our children only every weekends…. Every Saturday, when we see the kids, I have to tell them I’m their Mommy. And they will just stare at me and cry wwwwwwaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! After fifteen minutes, since their yaya and Grandparents retired to bed; they don’t have a choice but to be with me, they will smile and call me MOMMY!!! Oh! It hurts!!! My youngest wants to be cradled while my two year-old eldest wants to be noticed in every way.

I live this kind of routine for almost two years… I did not experience my children’s first. I only rely on the stories of their Yaya and Grand Parents. Sometimes, when their sick, I need to choose between work and the Kids.. The most hurtful thing was sometimes I had to choose work.. I am just a very lucky Mother because I have a very supportive in-laws.

Now, I chose to live my life to the fullest…I know the greatest wealth is not only your health. but your FAMILY. I quit my job while I still have the opportunity to be jobless. I started to DREAM big, HOPE for more, PRAY for abundance and guidance to be the best mother my children could ever have.Besides, they have no choice. I now commit to be the better person everyday...

I will receive abundant blessings to share with others...... I commit myself to grow, inspired and blessed!!!!
